The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in collaboration with the Department of Health Care Services has developed the stakeholder-driven "California Oral Health Plan 2018-2028" (COHP) to improve the oral health of Californians and achieve oral health equity. The strategies identified in the Plan will strive to improve oral health across the lifespan for California's diverse population. The Plan offers the structure for collective action to assess and monitor oral health status and oral health disparities, prevent oral diseases, increase access to dental services, promote best practices, and advance evidence-based policies. California is a unique position to capitalize on recent fiscal developments for making significant progress toward accomplishing the COHP objectives.
