QA Course - July 9-10, 2026

Dental quality assurance consultants play a crucial role in upholding the excellence and integrity of dental practices. Through meticulous assessments, expert guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives, QA consultants strive to ensure that patients receive the highest quality dental care while supporting the success and growth of dental practices in California. The primary responsibility of a dental quality assurance consultant is to assess and evaluate the quality of care delivered by dental practices through comprehensive onsite reviews of dental records and procedures.
About
The CADP Quality Assurance (QA) course is designed to educate dentists and related personnel in the process of evaluating the quality of care of a dental practice by performing an onsite review of dental records and procedures. The course is offered as an initial and re-certification course two times a year. All courses are two days in length and provide at least 19.5 hours of Continuing Education recognized by the Dental Board of California. The course has been approved by the Dental Board of California as a provider for the mandatory course in Infection Control and The Dental Practice Act. These two courses are included in the total hours of continuing education but have separate course numbers. Certificates for either Certified or Procedural Consultants are awarded to those who successfully complete the course and satisfy credentialing requirements. The consultant certification is for a two-year period.

There are two categories of consultants being certified by CADP.
The Procedural QA Consultant is a non-dentist. This classification requires:
- A minimum of three years in the dental field (auxiliary, dental assistant, registered dental assistant, licensed dental hygienist, dental office staff, or insurance industry.)
The Certified QA Consultant is a dentist. This classification requires:
- Current valid license to practice dentistry in the United States, without encumbrances.
- Minimum three years experience in the dental field after graduation from dental school, with a statement of clinical practice experience.
- Minimum one-year experience in the insurance industry (auditor, consultant, plan staff, etc.)
A certificate of course completion (only) is awarded to those attendees who do not meet the basic requirements for certification. The course completion certificate acknowledges the ability to perform a quality assurance assessment, however, the licensure, clinical, or insurance requirements for credentialing have not been satisfied. Persons holding this certificate are encouraged to pursue positions, which allow the deficiencies to be corrected.
CADP requests that all QA Assessments intended for use in the shared assessment project are performed by CADP Certified QA Consultants only. This request validates the principles of the shared assessment by assuring that all consultants have met minimum requirements.
